Lyrics: They built these stations past the edge of town Far away so no one heard the sound Now that the future population’s sold They say the word was always inside those That summer Was the hottest one we’d faced You were stoic Learned to give nothing away Boyhood la Give me emotion I pull it off some days Boyhood la Give me yeah Oh I’ll show you love again They’d say the myth is only for their own Then boys in town started to change their cloths And now that boyhood only lasts so long Your likely story is for everyone Sotto voce Now you opine on the game And we all sigh And you save the hero yeah Boyhood la Give me emotion I pull it off some days Boyhood la Give me yeah Oh I’ll show you love again Oh when you heard the hero’s journey caved You were stoic but the heads of sweat betrayed And all the dandies opened their coats to the wind And you watched as we all floated away

about

“Boyhood” marks the start of a new cycle of releases from Dunmore Park’s upcoming debut album release: Out West. As we reluctantly saying good-bye to the summer, “Boyhood” captures the bittersweet experience we all felt this year while we all stayed home.

“Boyhood” is rich in emotions and is the perfect song for your autumn chill playlist. As we are wrapping up this unpredictable year, Piper Davis’s voice gently guides us towards a stirring and bright new beginning.

Dunmore Park, born Andrew Williams, is well known as the founder of Canada’s largest electronic music conference AEMCON (Alberta Electronic Music Conference). His podcast, the Parkcast, is a melodic and deep exploration of electronic music intended to lure listeners into a relaxed, but euphoric state.

With lyrics on repeat, “Boyhood” captures emotion and conflict that so many of us are feeling right now.
